World Elephant Day

Come and celebrate World Elephant Day, which will be held on 11th August at the well-known Zoo Prague! Visit the unique exhibition complex Valley of the Elephants, where you can experience Asian culture. Expect elephant bathing demonstrations, guided encounters and the passing on of an enrichment element to the entire elephant herd.

Program:
10:30 – Guided Presentation of Enrichment Item to Female Elephants
Location: Grassy Enclosure by Gulab Restaurant

14:00 – Guided Elephant Bathing
Location: Pool in the Middle Enclosure

11:00, 12:00, 13:00 – Guided Meetings with Female Elephants
Location: Grassy Enclosure by Gulab Restaurant

15:30 and 16:00 – Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Elephant House
Duration: 30–40 minutes
The tour is free with a valid zoo ticket. Capacity is limited to 20 people per group, so please register in advance at program@zoopraha.cz. Due to the specific environment, strollers and dogs are not allowed. During the tours, the elephants will be in their outdoor enclosures.

10:00–18:00 – Paper Making from Elephant Dung:
Location: Papermaking Workshop in the Lower Part of the Zoo
Elephants are often depicted in art and culture as symbols of strength, wisdom, and majesty. As part of the celebration, you can create your own elephant-inspired art. Visit our workshop where you can make handmade paper from elephant dung and decorate it using various artistic techniques.
