Festival of Bulgarian Films in Prague

Let’s discover bits of European film this week in Prague!
You are cordially invited to join the 16th edition of Festival of Bulgarian Films that will take place from 14 to 17 March 2024 in the large and small hall of the Lucerna cinema. You may look forward to screening of films in the original version with English and Czech subtitles. The organisers have selected the films from the last year’s offer.

The festival attempts to shed light into Bulgarian films and documentaries which you may not know. What is more, you may expect various exhibitions, such as the exhibition of Silver Screen Stars from Bulgary.
This year, for the first time, they are including a special screening for children.
In recent years, Bulgarian films have become disillusioned with society and have turned thematically to Bulgarian immigrants. This year, all the films touch on these themes, with the exception of the children’s film.

The Bulgarian Film Festival is organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Czech Republic and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Prague with the support of the Bulgarian National Film Centre and the National Film Library.
