Cirkopolis Festival Prague 2026, taking place from February 8 to 14, 2026, will offer audiences an exceptional showcase of international projects that push the boundaries of acrobatics, movement, trust, and human potential.
From 2026 onward, the festival will be held as a biennial, underscoring its uniqueness and its strong focus on a carefully curated program.
Cirkopolis has long been regarded as one of the most important contemporary circus festivals in Central Europe. It brings together juggling, partner acrobatics, balancing techniques, contemporary dance, and physical theatre, while giving space to both Czech and international performers who explore not only physical but also mental limits. The festival takes place across several prestigious venues in Prague, including Palác Akropolis, ARCHA+, Jatka78, La Fabrika, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, and CIRQUEON.
The international program of Cirkopolis 2026 will present four outstanding European productions united by precision, experimentation, and strong personal expression. The festival will open with Belgian performer Alexis Rouvre and his hypnotic piece Tout Rien, in which traditional juggling is replaced by an exploration of time, gravity, and everyday objects. French minimalist circus icon Rémi Luchez will present his cult work L’Homme Canon, a poetic and subtly humorous reflection on courage, fragility, and the moment of losing control.
Another highlight of the program is In Difference by Jef Everaert & Marica Marinoni, where a dialogue between two bodies unfolds inside a metal Cyr wheel, raising questions of coexistence, difference, and trust. A powerful and emotional conclusion to the festival will be Grand-Mother Project by Un loup pour l’Homme, created in collaboration with local women aged 70+. The Czech version of this unique project will be presented for the first time outside France and performed only once—exclusively within the Cirkopolis festival.
Cirkopolis is not just a display of technical mastery, but above all an encounter with stories told through movement, trust, and human connection. It offers audiences intense experiences that transcend traditional circus forms and open new perspectives on the body, ageing, courage, and togetherness.
