Tancesraz Prague

From October 13 to 19, 2025, the third edition of the exceptional dance festival Tancesraz will take place at ARCHA+ in Prague, bringing together the worlds of urban dance and contemporary movement into a unique artistic experience.

Founded by Vahe “Wahe” Akopjan and Zuzana “Zizoe” Akopjan Veselá, Tancesraz is much more than a series of workshops and battles – it is a community gathering, educational platform, and theatrical event that breaks down boundaries between styles, cultures, and approaches to movement. The festival aims to show that dance can be a powerful expression of identity, creativity, and social dialogue.

This year’s edition welcomes international star Soleila Chaou (FR/ES), known for blending flamenco and voguing aesthetics. On Monday, October 13, she will lead a workshop-audition at InDance Prague, selecting a group of dancers for a week-long residency that will culminate in the premiere of a new piece during the Sunday theatre finale on October 19 at ARCHA+.

On Friday, October 17, the Education Day will feature a series of lectures and discussions focused on professional development in dance – covering topics such as Art of Battle, financial literacy, and The Science Behind Creatine, Electrolytes, and Magnesium, presented in collaboration with the festival’s “fuel partner,” Voxberg.

Saturday, October 18, will bring an exciting international 2vs2 freestyle battle, where top world and Czech dance duos will compete for a grand prize of 50,000 CZK and partner rewards. The jury will include dance legends Mr Youtube, Brooke Milliner, and Chilli. The evening will culminate with the Spotlight Prague afterparty, featuring DJs Kubko DC and Potkis TNM, who will keep the energy high until the early hours.

The festival’s grand finale will take place on Sunday, October 19, featuring a theatrical evening full of collaborations between European and Czech artists. Alongside Soleila Chaou’s premiere, performances will include Justin De Jager & Sem Deliveyne, Pop Balet, Anna Kolektiv, Michal Heriban, and more.

The artistic visual identity of Tancesraz 2025 was created by Igor Smitka, whose creative team transformed movement into a playful yet sophisticated campaign. The festival is supported by the City of Prague, the Ministry of Culture, Voxberg, and Freshlabels.

Tancesraz 2025 is a celebration of dance as more than just movement – it’s a voice that connects, inspires, and transforms.
