On Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 7:00 PM until midnight, dozens of museums, galleries, and cultural institutions across Prague will open their doors to the public as part of Prague Museum Night, organized this year by the Museum of the City of Prague.
This unique cultural event, inspired by similar nights throughout Europe, offers visitors free or discounted entry, special programs, a vibrant atmosphere, and the chance to encounter art and science in an unusual timeframe.
The main hub of activity will be the area around the Museum of the City of Prague at Florenc. There, visitors will find an information booth, a cozy picnic zone, street food, drinks from Vinohradský Brewery, and a rich cultural program. Weather permitting, the outdoor space will feature Lunalón – a giant inflatable model of the Moon, provided by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. Inside the museum, guests can explore an exhibition by students of the Intermedia 1 studio from the Academy of Fine Arts as well as newly renovated spaces that will soon house a permanent exhibition opening in summer 2025.
More than fifty institutions are participating in Prague Museum Night 2025, including:
Clam-Gallas Palace
Planetarium Prague
Galerie Rudolfinum
Museum of Literature
Museum of the Police of the Czech Republic
Jewish Museum in Prague
Štefánik Observatory
Pragovka Gallery
Kunsthalle Prague
David Černý’s Musoleum
Czech National Bank Visitor Centre
House of Photography
GAMU – Gallery of the Academy of Performing Arts
and many more.
In addition to art and culture, scientific institutions will also be part of the program. The Faculty of Science at Charles University will present an interactive periodic table, an invertebrate exhibition, a map collection, and Chlupáč’s Museum of the History of the Earth.
Prague Museum Night is more than just a cultural event – it’s an invitation to explore, connect, and experience the city in a way that daytime simply doesn’t allow. Whether you’re visiting exhibitions, stargazing, or enjoying a summer evening with friends under the open sky, the night promises inspiration at every corner.
