On Sunday, April 6, from 1 PM to 5 PM, the seventh edition of the event Welcoming Spring – The Burning of Morana will take place at Stanice techniků DDM hl. m. Prahy.
The farewell to winter will be celebrated in the spirit of folk traditions. Visitors can enjoy arts and crafts workshops with Easter and spring themes. There will also be the popular tradition of baking buns and various sports activities. We are delighted to once again welcome DDM Suchdol and DDM Prague 6 to the event.
The cultural program will feature performances by the theater studio of Stanice techniků, the folk ensemble Komedianti from DDM Suchdol, and the beloved children’s folk group Makovičky.
Visitors can also look forward to traditional activities such as a slot car racing track, model railway, and tram layouts. If the weather permits, we will be lending LEGO trains for our outdoor railway.
The Burning of Morana itself will take on a unique twist this year due to the current closure of the Troja navigation canal. Instead of drifting away down the river, Morana will be carried away by a historic tram – and you can be there to witness it with us.
Starting Monday, March 31, you can purchase a ticket at the reception of Stanice techniků for one of the two historic tram rides that will be part of the Burning of Morana. The number of seats is limited, so we recommend buying your ticket in advance to secure your spot. The price per ticket is 30 CZK.
