The Festival Pražské křižovatky 2025 will bring to autumn Prague, from October 7 to November 25, the eighth edition of this international theatre gathering, this time under the theme “New Sensitivity.”
Productions by international creators will give voice to those often overlooked on stage and will explore themes of intimacy, work, and cultural identity.
The festival will open with French director Mohamed El Khatib and his production The Secret Life of the Elderly, which with subtlety and humor addresses the taboo subject of sexuality in old age. The atmosphere of the opening performance will be further enhanced by its unique venue—the deconsecrated Church of St. Anne, known as Pražská křižovatka. After the performance, the nomadic band Caravan of LUV will present their concert Healing Prague, aiming to symbolically heal broken hearts and weary souls with love songs.
The program will continue with South Korean performer Jaha Koo, who will bring his project Haribo Kimchi to Prague. In it, he combines a personal narrative about the emigrant experience with cooking street food live for the audience. The festival will conclude with British director Alexander Zeldin and the French adaptation of his play Beyond Caring, a realistic story about temporary workers in a meat-packing plant, where the brief breaks during night shifts reveal both the precarious nature of their work and their human struggles.
For the first time, this year’s edition will take place without its traditional home at the New Stage, but will instead collaborate with the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art. This partnership, continuing in the spirit of Václav Havel’s legacy, also offers visitors the chance to combine a theatre evening with a visit to current exhibitions. Pražské křižovatky will once again be a space for encounters between art, ideas, and human stories that inspire greater empathy and understanding.
