Czech Double Plate Symposium

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the prestigious Rudolfinum in Prague will host the sixth annual Czech Double Reed Symposium.

This exceptional event will present the largest exhibition of oboes and bassoons in the Czech Republic, featuring masterclasses by international instructors, expert lectures, and concerts.

The program will begin with a masterclass led by Carlo Colombo, covering important topics such as proper breathing and posture for playing double-reed instruments. Participants can also look forward to a discussion with the Alinde Quintet and other experts on preparing for challenging music competitions.

In the afternoon, there will be an exhibition of musical instruments and accessories, offering attendees the chance to view and try top-quality instruments. The event will culminate with a festive concert by the ČSDN double-reed ensemble at 6:00 p.m. in Suk Hall, featuring talented artists such as Ondřej Trojánek, Denis Rakus, Stela Milotová, and others.
