DEN ARCHITEKTURY 2024 will take place in Prague from Friday, September 27th, to Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, with the main weekend events scheduled for September 28th–29th.
This nationwide festival, organized by the KRUH association in collaboration with local organizations, will offer over 400 events in more than 120 cities and towns across the Czech and Slovak Republics.
This year marks the 14th edition of the Architecture Day, focusing on the connection between technical solutions, aesthetics, and functionality. The festival regularly highlights significant figures in architecture and construction. Last year’s edition celebrated the 300th anniversary of the death of Baroque architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel and the 100th anniversary of the birth of modern architect Karel Prager.
Architecture Day offers not only guided architectural tours led by experts but also various workshops, screenings, theater performances, and boat trips. Popular events include “Hurá dovnitř!” (Hooray, come in!), which opens normally inaccessible buildings to the public, and the Film and Architecture festival, which showcases architecture through film.
The entire week provides an opportunity for anyone interested in discovering architecture from a new perspective and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the cities and buildings that surround us every day.
