Cermak Eisenkraft Gallery presents the exhibition “Senses,” featuring works by Gregor Hildebrandt, Václav Jirásek, Jana Kasalová, Petr Nikl, Jan Švankmajer, Ján Šicko, Vladimír Véla, and Ahmet Yiğider. The exhibition can be visited from June 19 to September 12 by prior telephone arrangement on weekdays between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Curated by Tomáš Zapletal Cermak, the exhibition showcases works by Czech and international artists, whose creations transcend the boundaries of individual disciplines. The aim is to awaken the human “sixth” sense through a variety of works, from sculptures, drawings, and paintings to videos and interactive installations.

The exhibition engages all five human senses and offers a unique sensory journey that goes beyond the visible and tangible, towards intuition and deeper perception of the world. Visitors become active co-creators, bringing the artworks to life through their interaction.

A bilingual Czech-English publication will be released on the occasion of the exhibition, featuring texts by philosopher Prof. Miroslav Petříček, art historian Prof. Marek Gisbourne, and an interview with curator Tomáš Zapletal Cermak and the exhibiting artists.

Cermak-Eisenkraft Gallery was founded in 2014 with the aim of becoming a leading dealer in post-war and contemporary Czech and international art. Founders Tomáš Zapletal and David Železný, who had previously been active in the Czech art market, aspire to create a company of international repute that will contribute to the cultivation of the art market in the Czech Republic. The gallery’s name reflects the founders’ family histories and traditional values: Anton Cermak, the famous mayor of Chicago known for his honesty and resilience, and Tordes (Teodor) Eisenkraft, a World War II hero who fought at Sokolov.

Entry to the gallery is free throughout the exhibition.
The gallery will be closed for technical reasons from July 21 to 27, 2024.

Dates: June 19 – September 12, 2024
Location: 2nd floor of the Topičův House, Národní 9
Admission: Free
