Pinot Noir Day

St. Klara Vineyard in Prague invites all wine enthusiasts to celebrate the Day of Pinot Noir on August 18, 2024. This prestigious grape variety, known locally as Rulandské modré, has a rich history at the Troja vineyard, dating back to the era of Charles IV, and is one of the most significant varieties cultivated in this region.

To mark this special occasion, the vineyard’s wine shop will host an open tasting of four different samples of Pinot Noir, showcasing various vintages and styles. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste wines from the 2018, 2019, and 2021 vintages, as well as a sparkling rosé brut nature from 2023. This event offers a unique chance to compare how this grape variety expresses itself across different years and forms, revealing its rich spectrum of flavors.

Tasting Information

The tasting will take place at the St. Klara wine shop, which will be open:

• Monday to Friday: 1:00 PM – 7:30 PM
• Saturday, Sunday, and holidays: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

No reservation is required for the tasting. Tasting tokens will be available for purchase on-site for 250 CZK, which includes four wine samples. Please note that admission to the botanical garden is not included in this price and is subject to the standard garden entry fees.

Getting There

The garden is easily accessible by public transport. The best route is via the “Kovárna” bus stops (lines 112 or 234), from where it is a short walk to the entrance on Trojská Street. Detailed transportation information is available on the garden’s website.
