On Wednesday, 12 October 2022, the Slavic Library, the Academy of National Minorities, the Association of Ukrainians and Supporters of Ukraine and the Russian Tradition Association are launching an exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outbreak of the Famine – the genocide of the Ukrainian nation.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 5 pm we invite you to the opening of the exhibition Famine in Ukraine (1932-1933), organized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the outbreak of this catastrophe.
The exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the outbreak of the Famine – the genocide of the Ukrainian nation will run from 12 October to 10 December 2022 and will present the most important moments of the famine, which was artificially provoked by the Soviet government in 1932 for political and economic reasons.
In the form of panels with photographs and texts in Czech and Ukrainian, as well as showcases with relevant publications from the collection of the Slavic Library, the exhibition presents the most important moments of the famine, which was artificially induced by the Soviet government in 1932 for political and economic reasons. Although the famine affected many areas of the Soviet Union, it was also genocidal in Ukraine, with the aim of completely suppressing Ukrainian national consciousness. The exhibition is being held to mark the 90th anniversary of the outbreak of this catastrophe, which claimed between 3 and 5 million victims in Ukraine alone.
