Concert of film music Prague

After two years, the Dalibor Havlíček Symphony Orchestra returns to Dolní Počernice with its second concert of film music. This young orchestra full of enthusiastic musicians has once again selected the most famous compositions from the film screen. In honour of Ennio Morricone, the main point of the new programme will be music from the films The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West. From the former you will hear its main theme and the song Ectasy of Gold, and from the latter the song Jill’s Arrival. From the Czech production you will hear songs from the western parody Lemonade Joe. Another important part of the programme will be the soundtrack of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. There will be well-known themes from all its parts: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. The fantasy genre will be represented by the music of John Williams. From him, the orchestra will perform famous pieces from the original Star Wars hexalogy or the soundtrack of the first Jurassic Park film. Fans of Harry Potter or Pirates of the Caribbean will also be in for a treat. The central theme from the film 1492: The Conquest of Paradise, composed by the famous Greek composer Vangelis, will also be an interesting item on the programme. From Czech television, the orchestra will perform the soundtrack of the successful TV series The Waste Land, for which the music was written by the renowned Czech composer and hitmaker Zdeněk Barták. To add variety to the evening, two songs from the film adaptation of the musical Mamma Mia (The Winner Takes It All and Mamma Mia) will also be included in the programme. Lovers of action films will enjoy the themes from the James Bond series. In addition to the well-known theme tune, you will also hear an orchestral piece by Adelle – Skyfall.
