From 14 July, the cinemas will introduce the unusual and incredible true story of two volcanologists’ love for volcanoes and each other – Fire of Love! This American/Canadian film has been a Sundance film festival hit combines great love story and breathtaking pictures of Volcanoes which would make you think you are watching a documentary produced by the BBC or National Geographic all in one!
Katia and Maurice Krafft had two passions in life – each other and volcanoes. He was direct and brave, while she was careful and calm, yet they were constantly together.These volcanologists have been drawn to the beauty and danger of the seething giants for two decades, saving tens of thousands of lives in the process. Director Sara Dosa has imaginatively adapted their remarkable tale and actual footage of the volcanoes that was captured on 16mm film at startlingly close quarters.
