On this virtual tour, we will discover the area where Charles Dickens was sent to work as a child and later immortalized in his semi-autobiographical novel David Copperfield. We will also uncover his other connections with the area; places he lived, worked and dined, where his parents were married and where his father was employed. It’s an area that was transformed completely in the final years of Dickens’s life; we will learn about this change and also find remnants of his Victorian world. Explore an area that Dickens knew well and that inspired parts of his novel David Copperfield.
