The White Night returns to Rome after a year and will take place at Villa Medici.
Visual artists, writers, composers, art historians, architects: all the boarders were invited by the curator Saverio Verini to present a selection of visual or sound works, installations, performances or video projections for the occasion. For an evening, the works are exhibited in the Medici gardens and in some of the internal spaces of the Villa, usually not accessible to the public (artist studio, living rooms, Salon des pensionnaires), through an original path that reflects the dialogue between artistic languages. and their interaction with these places steeped in history. Demande à la nuit (Ask the night) will not be characterized as a real exhibition, but as a path in the sign of transversality between expressive forms, which offers the public the opportunity to explore Villa Medici in its most suggestive and secluded corners: a few unusual hours in contact with the creations of the residents materializing in the rooms as well as in the open spaces of the Academy, and then vanish in the darkness.
The sixteen participants in the White Night 2020 are specialized in different artistic languages and correspond to the names of: Noriko Baba (composer); Coralie Barbe (restorer); Anne-James Chaton (writer); Mathilde Denize (plastic arts); Alice Dusapin (editor) and many others.
Take this unique opportunity to see and learn about different types of art in one place. You need to make a reservation.
