Gorges and Castle – Hike in Bakony

We invite you to explore our beloved treasure box in the western Hungarian region, the Bakony mountains. During this hike we walk through the famous and beautiful Ördög-gorge and check if the huge rock is still sticking in the valley. Be prepared with changing socks as walking down on the ladders can be tricky and your feet can end up in water :)! After walking through the gorge we climb up from deep down and rise up to the castle of Csesznek. After checking the castle we start our way back to the forest and get deep down again to our second gorge for the day. If you live in Budapest and you wish to spend an active day with discovering the natural beauties of the Hungarian countryside, this hiking trip is for you.

As we believe that walking in nature is the most touching with a small group, we have only 8 open places for this trip.

Difficulty of the hike: 18 kms – 480ms elevation gain
Moderate. An average fitness level is needed to manage the day in a good mood. No hiking experience is needed, but if you don’t do any sports and you barely walk, you will get exhausted early in the day. Walking through the gorge requires good body balance.
