Trafo Gallery exhibits neon light installations by two well-known painters and sculptors Michal Cimala and Michal Škapa. A permanent pair of post-street-art authors will present a series of works based on the neon principle. Although neon as a medium is nothing new for both authors, both will premiere a comprehensive series of works based on the specific properties of this rare gas. The medium of neon and especially its properties contrasts with both authors. For the intense glow of neon, it is necessary to isolate it. In the case of the work of Michal Škapa and Michal Cimala, it is the exact opposite. The nature and energy of both authors are invasive and contagious to many. In the outdoor area in front of the Trafo Gallery, the authors are preparing a site-specific object made of accumulated neon elements. A new recycled assembly will be created from the fragments. The exhibition will be accompanied by a bilingual publication summarizing the current work of both authors on the border of painting, sculpture and light objects, supplemented by an interview between curator Jan Kudrna and both authors.
