During our walk, we will explore the enchanted hill of Rome, the Aventine! It has its roots in the period of the foundation of the Eternal City when Remus chose this place of peace and silence during the dispute with his brother Romulus. We will immerse ourselves in the medieval setting by entering the early Christian Basilica of Santa Sabina, and then move on to the Church of Saints Bonifacio and Alessio. Finally, we will peek, through the famous “keyhole”, the dome of St. Peter’s perfectly centered thanks to the perspective created by the skilled architect Giovanni Battista Piranesi, in the Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta, where resides the historic seat of the Grand Priory of Rome. We will end our walk admiring the colors of the sunset over Rome from the fascinating panoramic terrace of the Orange Garden. We hope many of you will come!
