Exhibitions online in Vienna. Various establishments all around Vienna have displayed their collections, art, or performances online for everybody to see and enjoy. One of those is also the Natural History Museum in Vienna.
The museum is famous for its unique objects known all over the world. One of them is the “the 29,500-year-old Venus of Willendorf, the Steller’s sea cow that became extinct over 200 years ago, and enormous dinosaur skeletons.” Other interesting artefacts include for example the world’s oldest and largest public collection of meteorites as well as the new permanent anthropological exhibition on the origins and development of humans all of which are displayed in the 39 halls of this interesting museum. To celebrate the museum’s 125th anniversary a new Digital Planetarium has been opened. All of this makes the Natural History Museum an important place and one of the largest non-university research centres in Austria.
Through the virtual reality tour, you can now have a look at all 39 rooms of the museum and maybe along the way you´ll learn something new. This is certainly the time when you can relax and enjoy a little bit of natural history. The museum also offers digital walks to exhibition objects and through special exhibitions from Monday to Friday on Facebook or Instagram.
