One of the events you can go to from the safety of your own home is to visit one of the most beautiful buildings directly in the heart of Vienna. Visit the place where the history of Vienna took place.
The Hofburg formerly served as a principal imperial palace of the Habsburg monarchy and today it is the official residence as well as the workplace of the President of Austria. It is located in the historical city centre of Vienna and was built in the 13th century. Throughout the years the residence has undergone several reconstructions. It also served as the imperial winter residence of the Emperor. Today there are a couple of exhibitions you can visit: the display of crown jewels, the papyrus museum, the memorial dedicated to victims of Worl War II and many more. You also have the chance to have a look at the whole complex and all of the rooms of the palace from the safety of your own home.
On the official website of the Hofburg, you will find a virtual tour guide, which will show you all of the places worth to see. Because pictures often tell more than a thousand words, we highly recommend you visit Hofburg´s 360° Tour and have a look at the imperial world of the Habsburg dynasty.
“The Hofburg Vienna holds 17,000 m² of space in 35 rooms for events ranging from 50 to 4,900 persons. The heart of the property is embodied by the imperial staterooms which are equipped with ultramodern event technology.”
