Since a lot of concerts had to be canceled due to the pandemic that we´re dealing with now a couple of artists and musicians have decided to live-stream their performances through media such as YouTube, Instagram Live, Twitter and many more. We have prepared a little list of some of the concerts you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
1. Together at Home
On April 18, in partnership with the WHO (World Health Organization) a movement Global Citizen will be continuing their online concert series called Together at Home. Many of the worldwide celebrities like John Legend, Juanes, OneRepublic or others have already had their concerts on this channel (which you can still watch back) and many more are yet to come. The concert which will start at around 2 AM on Saturday will host guests such as Lady Gaga, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Elton John, Lizzo, Maluma, Nick Jonas and many more. The stream will be available on YouTube, some TV channels as well as Facebook and Amazon Prime.
2. Bang Bang Con with BTS
An internationally acclaimed Korean Pop-band BTS has decided to bring their music to your homes. On April 18 & 19 they´ll stream an online concert series where you´ll be able to stream 8 of their early on shows. All of them will be streamed on their official YouTube channel BANGTANTV. For many of their European fans, the two-day spectacle will begin each day around 5 AM since there´s quite a big time zone difference but we are sure that´ll definitely be worth it.
3. Metallica Mondays
The worldwide phenomenon called Metallica has decided to also contribute to world entertainment from the comfort of their own home. They have launched a new concert series online on the band´s YouTube channel and on their Facebook. You can enjoy live footage of some of their concerts that are being released every week. The shows usually start at 2 AM on Tuesday European Time and you are able to watch them back after the stream ends as well. So, head on to their channel and enjoy a healthy dose of some quality rock.
4. Bright Minded with Miley Cyrus
The pop singer has been hosting her show, Bright Minded, across several social media platforms. In addition to performing songs in character as her alter ego Ashely O from Black Mirror, Miley has featured a variety of celebrity guests including Elton John, Selena Gomez, Jimmy Fallon, and Demi Lovato. Her broadcasts are usually up from Monday to Friday around 8:30 PM on YouTube, Facebook and IGTV.
5. National Theatre
Maybe you wouldn´t categorize this as a music event but it surely worth sharing with you guys. The National Theatre has announced that we´ll be able to see some of the best British plays that´ll be available for all of you every Thursday on YouTube. The program began with James Corden in One Man Two Guvnors and Jane Eyre and there is more of the same quality content yet to come. The next play will be streamed on April 16 at 8 PM. The famous Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.
6. The Shows Must Go On
During this pandemic, the famous Andrew Lloyd Webber will be streaming his musical for free on his YouTube channel. The event started a couple of weeks ago when he posted his musical Jesus Christ Superstar to help pass the time while self-isolating. Each week there´s a new musical available which you can watch for the next 48 hours for free. All of them are uploaded on Fridays at around 8 PM and you can tune in whenever you like.
7. Wiener Staatsoper
What would you say to world-class opera and ballet for free, from the safety of your own home? Vienna State Opera is now opening its live stream archives. Wiener Staatsoper will broadcast Live at Home recordings of previous opera and ballet performances each day via its streaming platform. The streams usually start at 5 or 7 PM, which is line with the opera house’s usual performances, and they´ll be available for the next 24 hours.
8. Bruce Springsteen
While we’re talking about the music industry megastars, we should probably mention Bruce Springsteen as well. He has released for the first time his live performance from Hyde Park. The London Calling concert is available to stream via Apple Music and YouTube. All of the fans of this amazing singer, songwriter, and musician will definitely enjoy his show whenever they like for free.
9. Billboard Live At-Home Series
Billboard hosts Facebook live concerts from a variety of artists throughout the week. Each week, different artists are scheduled to play, so keep an eye on Billboard’s schedule. If you won´t be able to catch the lifestream because of the time zone difference don´t worry. The shows are usually available on Billboard´s website for everyone to watch. Some of the artists who have already joined this show are Meghan Trainor, Laura Marano, Echosmith or Alec Benjamin.
10. Christine and the Queens
The brilliantly-talented Christine and the Queens have already started what promises to be a series of live streams, complete with special guests. The good thing about the Instagram Live concerts is you can watch them back on Instagram at your leisure.
