Festival of the New Oil & Wine

08.11.2019 - 17.11.2019

XX FESTA DELL’OLIO E DEL VINO NOVELLO – Festival of the New Oil & Wine will take place in Vignanello.

An opportunity to celebrate the new season of Wine and Oil, which at this time of year express their youth and freshness with particular intensity. The dominant flavors and aromas in the medieval streets of Vignanello will in fact be those of the freshly transformed grapes in the “nectar of Bacchus” and of the olives in the midst of milling. Fragrances that will be added to the warmth of roasted chestnuts freshly baked by the large baking pans placed in the streets of the village.

Throughout the event, expert guides will lead you, through the “paths of taste of wine and oil”, into the fascinating world of production and transformation of the two most important products in Italian food and wine.

Thanks to informational paths, re-enactments and historical reconstructions of trades that have a rigorous philological criticality in the materials used, in the finished products, in historical notions, for some years the desire to immerse visitors in a corner of history was born.

The aim is to act as a time machine and to let people experience lost crafts and forgotten manual skills, even through the shows and some sports in use to revive that Italy of the Renaissance.

A festival dedicated to the flavors with many stands of local products, but also of culture with programs dedicated to the ancient crafts and guided tours of the Castello Ruspoli, the ‘Connutti’ underground Vignanello, the Baroque Collegiate Church and other significant sites of Vignanello.

Location: Vignanello, VT, Italy
Date: November 8-10 & 15-17
