The 58th edition of the Bratislava Music Festival will take place from 22 September to 8 October 2023 and will traditionally offer its fans a quality musical experience at great concerts!

You can look forward to the gala evening of one of the best tenors in the world, Piotr Beczala! This year we will welcome an exceptional personality, Polish tenor Piotr Beczala. A guest of the most prestigious world stages, including the MET, he will present a song and opera repertoire.

Among the particularly interesting concerts at this year’s BHS will be a guest appearance by the piano duo of the Dutch brothers Lucas&Arthur Jussen, who – despite their young age – perform with the world’s most important orchestras or as a duo in the most prestigious concert halls. The evening’s programme will include works for four-hand piano as well as works for two pianos!

Slovak Philharmonic:

Performs at 5 concerts of the 58th BHS!

22.9. – The festival will open with the work of the father of Slovak composers Eugen Suchoň (1908 – 1993), whose anniversary of birth and 30 years since his death are commemorated this year.

24.9. – The concert at the BHS also regularly belongs to another Slovak Philharmonic ensemble, the Slovak Chamber Orchestra.

28.9. – At the next concert we will give a concert performance of Tchaikovsky’s opera Iolanta. It will be performed at the BHS by SF, SFZ, conductor Daniel Raiskin, the current chief conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic, and several international guests – starring Evelina Dobraceva and Dmytro Popov.

2.10. – The Brno Philharmonic and the Slovak Philharmonic Choir, in a co-production project, invite you to a programmatic treat – the conductor is Dennis Russell Davies, the soloist is pianist Polina Osetinskaja.

8.10. – Slovak Philharmonic, Tomáš Netopil – conductor, Dalibor Karvay – violin.

In the first part of the final concert of this year’s BHS, the soloist is our leading violinist Dalibor Karvay, currently concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra; in his performance we will hear Brahms’s Concerto in D major. The 58th BHS will close with Eugen Suchoň’s monumental work Metamorphoses under the baton of Tomáš Netopil, one of the busiest Czech conductors abroad.
