In October 2019, Eliud Kipchoge, the marathon world record holder, will attempt to run a sub two-hour marathon – a feat no human has yet managed.
Eliud already holds the title as the fastest marathon runner ever after running an incredible 2:01:39 at the Berlin Marathon in 2018, beating the previous record by a huge 1 minute and 18 seconds.
The course involves several laps of the Hauptallee in Vienna. It’s completely free for the public to attend so we’re inviting everyone in Vienna to come and support Kipchoge and his team in their attempt to set a new record and redefine the limits of human achievement.
The run is scheduled to take place on October 12th 2019, however this is reliant on good weather. If the weather affects running conditions, the event may be delayed. We have blocked out the following week – 13th to the 20th October – as backup dates.
You can find out more information about Eliud’s sub two-hour marathon attempt on our website.
