Concert dedicated to MILAN RASTISLAV ŠTEFÁNIK

The year 2019 is the year of Milan Rastislav Štefánik, astronomer, general, diplomat, democrat and humanist. 100 years have passed since his tragic death and on July 21, 2020, we will commemorate the 140th anniversary of his birth.

An extraordinary concert will take place on Thursday 12 September 2019 in Bratislava’s Reduta.

Slovak Philharmonic, Slovak Philharmonic Choir / choirmaster Jozef Chabroň / and soloists will perform under the baton of Slovak conductor Oliver Dohnányi. The soloists of the evening will be two prominent young generation artists – violin virtuoso Dalibor Karvay and Slovak mezzo-soprano Jana Kurucová, since 2009 soloist of Deutsche Oper Berlin. In the interpretation of Dalibor Karvay the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in A minor, Op. 53 Antonín Dvořák, who is considered one of the composer’s masterpieces.
