We look forward to seeing you! Los esperamos!

Friday, July 12th & Saturday, July 13th. 2019 each from 14-22h

🌹Solidarity & Human Rights

Despite many personal fatalities, Frida Kahlo was a committed fighter for women’s rights for a variety of socio-political issues. Together with her longtime partner Diego Rivera she held talks with the President of Mexico Lázaro Cárdenas (1934-1940) to facilitate solidarity with people fleeing political institutions.

The written protest of Mexico against the „Anschluss“ of Austria to the „Third Reich“ as the only country in the world was thus not a unique act of solidarity in the term of Cárdenas‘. The commitment of Rivera, Kahlo and other activists showed the strong influence of Mexican society’s attitude: Mexico opened borders for many Jews, Social Democrats and Communists on the run.

Passion for life – „viva la vida“

Frida, daughter of a strictly Catholic Mexican and a native German with Jewish-Hungarian roots represents for many a colorful image of our society. We also want to set an example for migrants, integration and for the Mexican society in Austria and therefore, in the spirit of solidarity, diversity and joie de vivre, present two days with a varied program, which will prepare us as a celebration of life beautiful moments in the summer of Vienna ,

Our program includes moments for the whole family: a make-up station for children, a lookalike contest, as well as children’s entertainment and piñatas. Furthermore, we offer Mexican cuisine and live music and Fiesta for adults from 19h.

We look forward to seeing you!
