French Day: Let’s Celebrate Together French Holiday!

Building on the achievements of recent years, the 9th French Day, the celebration of the French National Day of the Conquest of the Bastille, will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Main Square in the heart of Bratislava

The Bastille as a symbol of the “Old regime” was invaded and conquered in Paris on July 14, 1789. This event marked the beginning of the Great French Revolution (1789 – 1799), and the foundations of human rights.


14:00 – 19:00

On the Main Square, visitors will be able to explore the French market: the twenty stalls will offer French products from 14:00 to 20:00. in addition to French colors, French flavors, and delicious drinks. For example, lovers of French language, traveling in France or French cars will for sure find things they like.

? DOOR OPEN DAY at the French Institute
? 14:00 – 18:00

Just a step away from the Main Square, the Open Day with a program will be held at the French Institute in Slovakia from 2 pm to 6 pm.

17: 00 – 22:00

The winners of this year’s singing competition, Singing in French (17:00 – 17:30), as well as singer Jana Gavačová, who sings French classics as well as newer hits (18:00 – 19:00). The singing will be replaced by cardboard boxes as part of the original Inbox juggling performance of the French circus group Soralino Company (19:30 – 20:30). The spectacular celebrations will be completed by a concert by the French band Météo Mirage (21:00 – 22:00), whose rock-electronic music is ideal for the summer July evening!
