“Metropolitan Fables”: Exhibition of Paintings by Vittorio Tapparini
The visionary works of the artist Vittorio Tapparini return to Rome. His personal “Metropolitan Fables” will be inaugurated Saturday, April 27th at 6.30pm at the gallery of the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Via del Corso 528; will present the art critic Claudio Casalini.
For those who do not believe that the time of fairy tales and the purest values, of deepest dreams and of the hope that the world can dress again and be colored with wonder, come the new enchanted canvases by Vittorio Tapparini that will be presented in preview at Rome from April 27th. The master from Lecce, in spite of a time that shows arid realities, emptied of every best human value and of every utopia (which is instead the only mother of the future) this time raises the bar and introduces new magic among his bizarre characters. Not only then his classic lovers on a Vespa, on a rocking horse, on a bicycle or in “old fashion” cars that proceed against the wind towards the future, this time Tapparini dares even more, looking at a “revolutionary” imaginative universe. In the oil paintings of “Favole metropolitane” appear indeed winged fairies, long-haired angels, jugglers of life and colorful fairy-tale stories, circus or simply suspended in visionary worlds where everything is possible. Everything, even silent but courageous cultural resistance.
It is indeed a direct challenge to the world of those adults who hide behind the cynicism and the greyness of fast and asphyxiated times, which they no longer know how to hope or dream like they did when they were children: “we begin to open our hearts again – says the artist – inside we will rediscover that future we dreamed of and then lost on the road, we start playing with the best part of us and build small portions of a better world “.
Visionary to the point of becoming a “reverse” heretic, because transgressing today means talking about love-solidarity-hope-peace, Tapparini’s pictorial expressionism increasingly draws magical surrealism.
