From 3 to 5 May 2019 the needles of the world’s largest tattoo artists they will come to dye Rome with their indelible ink.
In the mists of time, it represented a ritual relationship with the sacred, then it became transgression, then contemporary art, today it’s very creation and engraving on the skin becomes performance and its possession becomes a symbol of belonging to a social and social tribe. From the model to the professional Zionist, from the yuppie to the hippie, today everyone (or almost) wears a tattoo, a unique and unmistakable trace on the skin, and companies, influencers, TV stars and the web exploit it’s enormous social and media reach.
That of the tattoo is a huge all-encompassing movement and the thousand philosophies that animate and stir this universe will meet at the XX International Tattoo Expo Rome, the fifth most important and largest in the world, from 3 to 5 May at the Nuova Fiera di Roma: more of 400 tattoo artists from all over the globe, between old and new school, new phenomena and trends, brands, VIPs, exhibitors and all the culture that revolves around the pictorial decoration of the body, a live stage with a very tight schedule with guests of the caliber of Samuel by Subsonica in a special ad hoc DJ set and a DRAGO Lounge designed for the occasion.
The rotary press artists will transform the hangar of the New Fair of Rome into a hub, an entirely ink-related planet, a labyrinth of machines, needles and leather that will be tinged under the touch of the exponents of the best world-famous studios to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of an event that is both ritual, artistic, trendy and worldly with guests of the greatest tattooists of the scene.
