Swing Party w/ Jazz Lag Orchestra

Swing is music and dance. Two souls that promise to merge in the salon of the historic Arci Bellezza of Milan, Saturday 27 April, for a night on the notes of music that has made generations of young people heated up and not from the Twenties onwards.

The Jazz Lag Orchestra is a small miniature big band, a swing orchestra composed of ten elements distributed between the vocals section (female vocal trio), wind section (trumpet, sax and clarinet) and rhythm section (piano, guitar, double bass and drums) . From the early 20th century Traditional Jazz to the great classics of the Swing Era, the Jazz Lag Orchestra retraces the great masterpieces of the history of swing through the compositions of its most famous masters, both American (including Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Counte Basie etc) that Italians (Carosone, Gorni Kramer, Natalino Otto etc).

This is an independent project born in 2004 to bring together the most misfit jazz musicians from the Northern Province of Milan under the same stable; the musicians, more or less seasoned, frequented the basements of the city’s worst bowling clubs to play jazz between a grapnel, an off-white and boiled eggs bought at the counter. And one fine spring day, as in the most beautiful sounding fairy tales, came three singing princesses, with a snitch in their hands and a nightingale voice: the Jazz Lags met the love for not abandoning it anymore.
