The weather in Krakow in the springtime is really nice, sunny and warm so there is nothing better than spending time outside. Fortunately, many restaurants, cafes and bars offer their customers different forms of outdoor space, which vary from large beautiful gardens to small cosy patios available April to October each year depending on the weather.
I really love this season as much as you probably do too, so I made a list of some of my favorite Krakow places where you can have an amazing dining experience while chilling outside under the gentle sunlight.
1. La Campana Trattoria
This nice place is situated at one of the oldest streets in Kraków – Kanonicza street and is believed to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Krakow.
The outdoor courtyard setting of the Trattoria is absolutely magical and it makes you feel like you are actually in Italy. If you’re looking for a quiet, cozy and charming place with an atmospheric candle-light, which can be especially romantic in the evening, this place is the perfect one. Moreover, sometimes they have a musical trio playing for entertainment, so the customers can truly enjoy their time.
2. Camelot Cafe
Being situated a little away from the busy streets and the Main Square of Krakow, but still in the very central part, this place is a real treasure!
Camelot Cafe is the ideal place for enjoying the old town, sitting outside on a sunny day and watching the world go by. The blooming pansies in the tubs surrounding the outside tables definitely add a lovely touch. The whole atmosphere is truly magnificent!
3. Cafe Szal
This rooftop cafe is located in the National Museum of Krakow in the Cloth Hall.
If the weather is good, the best option is to sit outside on the balcony, get a great view of the Main Market Square and St Marys Church and soak in the magical atmosphere. And from the outdoor terrace, you can observe the life of the very centre of the city: street musicians, colorful horse-drawn carriages, flower stands, cozy cafes and thousands of people in motion.
4. Charlotte Cafe
This typical French-style cafe-bakery can be found on the pretty Plac Szczepanski in the Old Town. Perfect place to go for breakfast or brunch with a big choice of sweet and salty items. You can literally smell the bread from the other side of the plaza. And the charming square-facing tables outside are the best part of this place!
But be aware that sometimes the waiting time can be long as this place is very popular among the locals and tourists but it is definitely worth waiting.
5. Oranzeria restaurant
Oranzeria restaurant is located on the top floor of Hotel Kossak.
Their beautiful and charming terrace is an ideal variant for enjoying the most wonderful, sweeping views of Krakow: The Wawel Castle, The Old town and Vistula riverfront, so it’s also a great opportunity to take a lot of nice photos.
6. Meho Café
Just imagine an enchanted garden in the middle of the city, with a lot of trees, plants, flowers, cosy tables around, fresh air and birds singing…Are you excited? Then don’t miss Meho cafe when in Krakow. Here you can also find delicious coffee, home-made cakes, smoothies and seasonal lunch sets. All of it makes this place just a perfect beautiful space to chill and enjoy the moment.
7. Dynia Resto Bar
Dynia is known for its lovely outside seating area in the courtyard covered with plants and lanterns. Once you are in the backyard, you will be enchanted. Dynia Resto Bar is small and simple, but truly cozy and friendly. The atmosphere is convivial and relaxing and it is a good way to escape from the city crowd and take a break, while enjoying some tasty meals. They have a big variety of food especially pumpkin dishes as the name “Dynia” itself means “Pumpkin”.
8. Nova Resto Bar
Very attractive large restaurant perfectly located in the heart of Kazimierz (Former Jewish Quarter) which is famous for lots of its great bars and restaurants.
The whole neighborhood is really modern, young and lively, and this place perfectly suits it. Here you can sit outside on the super comfortable sofa and watch what is going on around on the street without rushing anywhere.
9. TAO Garden
This place is located near the Vistula River after the footbridge “Bernatek” in a trendy Krakow’s Podgórze district. They have a very beautiful and green terrace to just take a moment and relax. The whole place is very unique, especially for its design, but their main highlight is the rabbits running around the whole restaurant making it even more friendly and welcoming.
10. Zalipianki Ewa Wachowicz
Beautiful and cosy restaurant located just in three minute walk from the Main Market Square. Their stylish terrace has a very nice view on Planty Park. So you can fully enjoy their fantastic food, comfortable tables and sofas as well as really peaceful landscape around.
