Skalka is the oldest place of worship in Krakow. It is a small rock where St. Stanislaus, the Bishop of Krakow, was slain on the direct orders of King Boleslaw II the Bold in 1079. Today it is a Paulite church and monastery. Visit the church and examine closely the décor and interiors. Step into the courtyard to see the Three Millennia Altar that was built here in 2008. You will see statues of St. Stanislaw, Pope John Paul II, St. Faustyna, St. Jadwiga, St. Adalbert, St. Jan Kanty, and also Abbot Augustyn Kordecki in the courtyard and much more.
