ELTON JOHN’S “FAREWELL YELLOW BRICK ROAD” EUROPEAN TOUR POSTPONED TO JULY 2023

The concerts with Elton John that were scheduled for October 1, 2021 and October 2, 2021 are unfortunately forced to be postponed. We can now announce that the new dates will be July 7, 2023 and July 8, 2023 at Tele2 Arena.

Purchased tickets will remain valid until the new date. If you cannot attend on the new date, ticket redemption is valid until November 5, 2021 via the retailer AXS.

Elton’s career achievements are unprecedented in both scope and longevity. He is one of the best-selling solo artists of all time with one Diamond, 38 Platinum or multi-Platinum and 26 Gold-certified albums, over 50 Top 40 hits and has sold more than 300 million records worldwide. He holds the record for the best-selling single of all time, “Candle in the Wind” from 1997, which sold over 33 million copies. “Diamonds”, his ultimate Greatest Hits album, reached the top 5 on the UK album charts when it was released in November 2017, becoming Elton’s 40th UK Top 40 album. This release celebrated 50 years with songwriting partner Bernie Taupin. In August 2018, Elton was named the most successful male solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 ever with 67 entries, including nine #1s and 27 Top 10 entries.

Among Elton’s many honors and awards include six GRAMMY Awards, including a GRAMMY Legend Award, a Tony and an Oscar, a Best British Male Artist Award BRIT Award, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, Kennedy Center Honor, Legend of Live Award, 13 Ivor Novello Awards between 1973 and 2001, and a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II for “services to music and charitable services.”

In January 2018, the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” was announced at New York’s Gotham Hall. This 3-year tour began in September 2018 and covers 5 continents, and over 350 dates and marks his retirement from touring after more than 50 years on the road. In May 2019, it was named Billboard’s Top Rock Tour. To date, Elton has delivered more than 4,000 performances in more than 80 countries since he started his first tour in 1970. 2019 has already seen the release of “Rocketman”, a fantasy musical film about his life and his autobiography “Me” will be published later in the year.

In 1992, he founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which today is one of the leading non-profit HIV and AIDS organizations, has so far raised over $450 million in the global fight against HIV and AIDS. In 2018, Elton was awarded a Crystal Award for his deeds to raise awareness of human rights at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. In June 2019, President Emmanuel Macron awarded the Légion d’honneur, France’s highest honor, to Elton for his lifelong contribution to the arts and the fight against HIV and AIDS.
