Resident Art’s New Year’s art fair, Collector’s Selection, will be open from 18 to 28 January. The gallery’s two curators, Ákos Bánki and János Schneller, will ensure the high quality and exclusivity of the collectors’ catalogue. The selection will be divided into three parts; an international exhibition of graphic art, works by the great masters of contemporary graphic art from Hungary and works by young emerging artists.
The first part will be a special international selection of prints by foreign masters who have rarely or never been seen in the local market. The works include prints by Karel Appel or Corneille, founders of the CoBrA group, renowned artist of gestural abstraction Hans Hartung, and sheets by the Taslist Antoni Tàpies. Mimmo Rotella, famous for his decollages, and Sandro Chia, a prominent member of the Italian transavant-garde, are also represented. We also have a selection of prints by Nicolas Schöffer, Alfred Manessier, Victor Vasarely, Max Bill, Wolf Vostell and Günther Uecker.
In the second section, works by the great masters of contemporary art in Hungary are presented. Among others, important graphic works by Imre Bak, Jenő Barcsay, Imre Bukta, János Fajó, László Fehér, Krisztián Frey, Tamás Hencze, Endre Hortobágyi, Ilona Keserü, Károly Klimó, Tamás Konok, István Nádler, Sándor Pinczehelyi, Róbert Šwierkiewicz, Árpád Szabados and others are on display.
The third part of the selection is made up of works by young and emerging artists who have joined our gallery. The section of more than twenty paintings juxtaposes fresh and powerful visual landscapes with prints by local masters. The paintings not only offer a glimpse into the visual world of the artists, but when exhibited together they also reveal much about the gallery curators’ preferences.
Opening hours: on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 18:00, Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00, or by appointment (firstname.lastname@example.org).
