33 days with bears

Winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Martin Greguš exhibits in the SPP Gallery.

Martin Greguš, a young Slovak photographer living in Canada, is now coming to his native Bratislava with the world premiere of his beautiful photographs and short films capturing polar bears in the Canadian wilderness. His exhibition “33 Days with the Bears” will run at the SPP Gallery from October 7, 2022 until FEBRUARY 28, 2023.

Martin’s work has caught the attention of world-renowned magazines and media outlets such as National Geographic, Canadian Geographic, GEO, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Washington Post and HuffPost. On October 1, 2022 alone, his talents in wildlife photography and video were recognised at the Siena Drone Awards in Italy.

Martin’s story “33 Days with Bears” has already been published this year in the US edition of National Geographic magazine and in the French edition of GEO magazine, and his winning photographs were exhibited this year at the World Economic Forum in Davos. “Visitors to the exhibition in the CAP Gallery can see a collection of my 50 photos, which we are exhibiting in such a comprehensive form for the first time. It is a documentary project that captures my interactions with polar bears, with whom I spent a total of 33 days during the summers of 2020 and 2021. The exhibition also includes a documentary film that will show viewers how our photos were taken, what our interactions with these polar beasts in Hudson Bay were like, simply how we experienced these very unique moments,” says Martin.
