Júlia Kozáková presents her recently released debut album Manuša, which follows traditional old Roma songs and their stories from Slovakia and Central Europe. Her voice is accompanied by a traditional dulcimer band composed of some of the most respected Roma musicians from Slovakia.
Julie is a world music singer and has recently completed her music studies at SOAS University of London.
She works with Roma in Slovakia to develop an authentic voice within this tradition. Her vocal style has been described as immersive and empathetic and her performance as truly authentic.
The invitation to christen this album was accepted by well-known singer and choirmaster Ida Kelarová.
