GES – Farewell tour

There were supposed to be two gigs in Borgholm Castle ruin in the summer of 2017. There were six nights and we thought it was crazy fun – both to meet each other and the audience and since the production was there, the band was free and the summer of 2018 was like an open arms, it was a tour through the country.

One night after a gig on that tour, remember it was in Järvsö, we were chatting and then someone remembered that GES had never done a show indoors. So there in the Christmas night, the idea for the show “Stop the world for a while” was born.

The idea was that the premiere would be in Gothenburg on April 3, 2020. But you know how it turned out – the world stopped completely and we had to wait until the autumn of 2021 before we could count in the first song.

By the time we pound our hands in the tiles at Cirkus in Stockholm at the end of the year, we’ll have played the show almost 150 times and on 17 December we’ll do it for the very last time. Before that, we’ll have been on an arena tour in thirteen Swedish cities. We now call this autumn’s performances the Farewell Tour, we don’t even want to think about the idea of Staying in the World for a while longer.

This autumn and winter’s shows will be the last ones GES does together. Thanks for the coffee. It’s now time for the last order.
