Workshops for people and nature

Prague’s botanical garden has prepared another edition of great events! This time, the main idea is to support the relation of a human and nature, urban biodiversity and sustainability.
You will see the demonstration of various plant-growing techniques so you may add additional greenery to your windows, balconies, or neighbourhood front gardens. What is more, they will demonstrate how the interaction between urban and natural ecosystems functions.

It is suitable for all who are interested in nature and who want to bring more nature to the city and sees bio-waste as a valuable resource. Do not forget to bring your children, friends, parents or grandparents.

Programme of the workshops:
6.8. and 20.8. Growing from the seeds
from 10.00 to 18.00 – Ornamental Garden
You will have the opportunity to create the future together with the Partnership Foundation (6.8.) and with the social benefit enterprise Kokoza (20.8.). We’ll talk about community gardening opportunities, and how to care for seeds.
Experience the scent of herbs in our herb beds. After the test, you will be able to take part in an upcycling workshop and make sprouting pots. You will be making things from old publications, books and newspapers.
You can also enjoy making bracelets from old textiles – rope bracelets (this workshop will require to bring some old T-shirts).

13.8. and 27.8. Composting
from 10.00 to 18.00 – Ornamental Garden
We will demonstrate how to manage bio-waste and compost in the city to you in Section 13.8 along with a professional from the socially responsible business Kokoza.
Another activity prepared is the creative workshop. You will have the opportunity to decorate jars with an engraving pen so that you can have your very own lovely flower vase.
