Italian festival in Slovakia. For the fifteenth time, the DOLCE VITAJ Festival of Italian Culture presents a rich offer of important encounters with Italian art and lifestyle.
After two years, its programme will be filled with live performances that music lovers will enjoy the most. The opening concert on 6 June 2022 will belong to the exceptional group of musicians DANIELE DI BONAVENTURA TRIO. Their repertoire builds on the musical traditions of distant lands, where the hot sun and fascinating atmosphere can be felt in every note. Violin alchemist LUCA CIARLA will enchant the Slovak audience with his incredible lightness, with which he moves at the crossroads of several genres, on 17 June 2022. Admission to both concerts is free. The festival is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava.
1. The opening concert of the Dolce Vitaj Festival will belong to an exceptional group of musicians who have always collaborated with world-renowned artists. DANIELE DI BONAVENTURA TRIO will perform in Bratislava for the first time, on Monday 6 June 2022 at 7 pm in the Large Concert Studio of the Slovak Radio. The repertoire of the concert is based on the musical traditions of Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa and Southern Europe.
2. Violin alchemist Luca Ciarla will perform on Friday 17 June 2022 in Klariska. La Repubblica newspaper has described him as one of the most interesting violinists on the international scene today, able to move between different genres without deviating from his unmistakable style. In 2015, the musician was a guest of the Bratislava Jazz Days with his quartet.
3. The DOLCE VITAJ 2022 festival will begin on 26 May 2022 at the Považská galerija of Art in Žilina with a solo exhibition by Lucia Marcucci (Florence, 1933), who emerged on the alternative art scene in the 1960s as one of the prominent representatives of pop art and visual poetry. The exhibition Maria Mulas. Italian Icons in Photographic Portraits will open its doors on 2 June 2022 at the Slovak National Museum in Bratislava. The photographs will bring the Slovak audience closer to the heyday of Italian intelligence and creativity in the second half of the 20th century, which dominated many spheres of art and social life. From 8 June 2022, the traditional film show Cinevitaj will begin. On 14 June 2022, an online interview with the writer Sandro Veronesi, author of the successful novel Hummingbird and two-time winner of the Strega Prize (2006, 2020) and the Campiello Prize (2000), will be on the programme.
