From 16 June to 25 June, the annual festival of of Bonsai and Japanese Culture will take place at Prague’s Botanical garden. Come and enjoy the craft of the piece which is is never “finished” as it changes through the seasons and it gains its beauty as the years pass. Togehter with tree shaping and Japanese cultural traditions, you will have the opportunity to buy bonsai trees and complementary plants and join various exhibitions and workshops.
For example, there will be guided tours of Japanese swords and martial arts demonstrations. Young and old alike can take part in workshops and try their hand at, for example, painting on textiles and ceramics or painting traditional Japanese kokeshi dolls or folding origami. For those who are interested in trying out new things through your stomach, there is going to be sushi, traditional matcha tea or ice cream with unusual flavours.
