The creators of the most successful Slovak musical to date, Eighth World (700 performances in Slovakia and the Czech Republic), have once again reached for the famous songs of the legendary band Elán and created a completely new story set in the present day, paraphrasing Alexandre Dumas’s famous novel The Count of Monte Cristo.
After a great success at the Kalich Theatre in Prague, this thrilling, dynamic musical about love and revenge with new characters and strong emotions is finally coming to Slovakia.
It brings more immortal hits from Elán’s repertoire – from the oldest ones such as Nie sme zlí, Fero, Tuláci v podchodoch – to the newer Sestrička z Kramárov, Kočka or Zanedbaný sex.
The title of the musical Water (and Blood) Over Water refers to one of the most famous songs in Elán’s repertoire, Water What Keeps Me Afloat, 20 years after it was recorded. Along with the well-known hits, there will also be one new song, written especially for this performance. Vašo Patejdl has arranged and re-arranged the songs for the musical.
“There must always be some water to keep us afloat in difficult moments. Sometimes it can be desire, sometimes career, sometimes revenge, but the most beautiful thing is when love keeps us afloat …”
