A well-designed and well-made toy promotes and develops a sense of beauty, purpose and empathy. The tour of the exhibition begins with a reproduction of a painting by Pieter Brueghel, where children can look for games that are still played today. They will also find replicas of historical toys based on archaeological excavations, an iconic technical game called Mercury, which has been in production since 1920 until today, a city made of a large colourful jigsaw puzzle, a doll’s house and a teddy bear, as well as plastic toys from the last century by the famous designer Libuši Niklová. They will get to know the toys of our contemporary designers, and they can also design their own toy.
