Central Europe Dance Theatre

K-Arcok: Márta Ladjánszki – Central Europe Dance Theatre. The K-Arcok series is an exceptional professional initiative of the Central Europe Dance Theatre, which has so far produced six successful productions, as indicated by the Lábán Award nomination and the Mono Dance Grand Prize. Its aim is to capture the essence of Hungarian contemporary dance through the work of exceptional creative personalities such as Anna Réti, Adrienn Hód, Gábor Halász and Attila Kun, Csaba Molnár and Máté Mészáros, László Mádi and Bea Egyed. Thanks to the genre of the solo, the dancer’s presence on stage and the choreographer’s responses to the ideas offered during the rehearsal process reveal the performer’s personality, thus turning the joint work of two creative entities into a single caricature, a portrait.

Márta Ladjánszki:

“In my work, I focus entirely on observing my chosen soloist. My aim is to get to know him or her in this short period of time and to bring out situations, insights and manifestations from him or her, preferably ones that are new challenges for him or her and thus provide an opportunity for development. To do this, I will use different tools and exercises (as I usually do when preparing my creations) and introduce him to new (play) partners, so that we can find the movement qualities and forms that we can then work with. I also aim to create a performance with Zsolt Varga’s musical accompaniment.”
