The land of the rising sun is back, the Japanese market is coming to Rome! Second big seasonal appointment for JAPAN DAYS in the splendid spaces of the Ippodromo Capannelle in Rome. Loaded with the enthusiasm that you transmitted to us in the last edition, we are sure that even in October you will breathe the beautiful atmosphere of great occasions. A unique path that will make you lose yourself among the sounds, scents and atmospheres typical of the Rising Sun. A large space and a splendid showcase for our creative operators, artisans, illustrators and all the categories that have always animated the Japanese Market. All the nuances of this great culture enclosed in a single container.

Admission free of charge and without reservation. The Japanese Market is a PET FRIENDLY event. THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE OUTDOORS BUT THE EXHIBITION AREA IS COVERED BY A CANOPY, IN CASE OF RAIN THE EVENT WILL BE REGULARLY. The Japanese Market complies with the anti covid-19 regulations in force: AS PER THE REGULATIONS IN FORCE FROM 1 SEPTEMBER 2021 TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT YOU WILL NEED TO EXHIBIT THE GREEN PASS OR:
1) One or two doses of vaccine carried out.
2) Have tested negative even with rapid swab in the preceding 48 hours.
3) Be cured of covid within the previous six months
Children under the age of 12 are exempted

How to reach us:
TRAIN
The train stop is Capannelle, about 500 meters from the venue. The FL4 train service that stops at Capannelle leaves from Termini Station and has the following directions: Ciampino, Albano Laziale, Frascati, Velletri.
BUS
The nearest bus stop (Capannelle – Appia Nuova) is 100 meters from the main entrance of the venue.
The buses that connect at this stop are:
line 664 L.go Colli Albani – Cosoleto
line 654 Lagonegro – Cinecittà
night line n26 L.go Colli Albani – Cosoleto.
METRO
Metro A to Cinecittà stop and bus line 654 towards Lagonegro – Capannelle/Appia Nuova stop.
Metro A to Colli Albani station and bus n° 664 towards Cosoleto – stop Capannelle/Appia Nuova.
For those coming by car there is a large free parking in front of the structure. Alternatively, that of the guarded Hippodrome at 3 euros for the day.

Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 Korekara Maid Cafè. the Korekara Maid Cafe
is a group made up of 5 Maid Maids and 2 Junior Maids. Our mission is to reinterpret the oriental Maid Cafè phenomenon in a European key (specifically Roman). Maid Rei, Maid Moe, Maid Aki, Maid Merodii and Maid Jun will welcome you and play with you as if they do in the capital and above all with the style of a maggica. Sweetness, purity and lightheartedness blend with boldness and pungent irony. From Okaerinasaimase, Goshujinsama! It is n’attimo to the Roman stornelli. In Korekara lives the duality and culture of two extraordinary places in the same way but different in many respects: Japan and Italy.

RETRO GAMES/ARCADE. Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am. The Arcade Lab finally returns with its splendid 80’s and 90’s cabinets. You can try your hand at the game completely free of charge in the area set up for the occasion.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 17/DEMONSTRATION IN TRADITIONAL COSTUME. Kyōgen: the Samurai Comic Theater. The Samurai Comic Theater is back at the Japanese Market! Kyōgen is a form of Japanese comic theater born in the 1600s and still staged today with classic and modern comedies. The adaptation into Italian language conceived by the Italo Kyogen Project aims to make Kyōgen appreciated in Italy by enhancing its universality. Twin of the Commedia dell’Arte, the Kyōgen is also populated with masks, like the servant and the master, but in kimono and oriental fan! At the Japanese Market/Japan Days throughout the day of Sunday 17 October the Italo Kyogen company will show the stylized movements, the use of the fan and the vocal forms typical of Kyōgen with insights into the historical-linguistic context of this ancient art performative, finally staging ancient and modern farces in traditional costume! At 3.00pm it will also be possible to participate in the Kyogen workshop in Italian to have fun together with the magic of the Samurai Theater!

THE WELLNESS STATIONS ARE FINALLY BACK. Shatsu & Kobido massages by Millevie. SHIATSU treatments on the chair and on the floor and KOBIDO facial massage. The operators Daniela Piola and Sabrina Persichetti will introduce you to Shiatsu and Kobido, the most ancient practices of Japanese wellness. MARTIAL ARTS. We are happy to start again with the programming of Japanese martial arts performances and we do it with an exceptional guest which is the Kobukan Roma Association. In addition to the performances scheduled in the two days of the event, the Masters will be present with an informative station to give the public the opportunity to get closer to the knowledge of the disciplines of the tradition. Saturday & Sunday 12.30am and 4.30pm. DEMONSTRATIONS OF: Kobudo (Japanese fencing) of the tenshin shoden katori shinto ryu school; – Iaido (sword drawing) of the hoki ryu school; – Sojutsu (spear) of the fuden ryu school. All these schools are very old (Middle Ages) and some are considered Japanese national heritage.

The Kobukan Roma association was founded in 1999. For more than twenty years our Dojo has been our second family, a physical and spiritual place. “Under the guidance of the Masters we practice the traditional Japanese martial arts “heart to heart”. The Dojo is led by Maestro Fabio Bardanzellu, kyoshi 7dan recognized by the prestigious and ancient association Dai Nippon Butokukai.

BONSAI LABORATORY by Riccardo Spadaro. 16 & 17 October. 12.00am. Cost of the course: € 25 including the plant. For reservations: raffaellaferzi@gmail.com. A Bonsai in a 60-minute workshop: Riccardo, thirty years of experience, will guide you step by step to transform a garden plant into what will later be your Bonsai. Riccardo Spadaro began his botanical knowledge in 1988 collaborating with Dr. in agriculture R. Savagnone. His curiosity preparation will lead him to know and work bonsai with the most important Japanese masters (O.Terakawa, M. Kimura, J.Naka, S. Suzuki).

QUILLING WORKSHOP by Capricci di Carta TBA. Saturday Sunday. Kids at 12.00am. Adults at 1.00pm. Cost: € 12 including the work done. For reservations: fradilino@gmail.com Quilling (paper filigree) is a very ancient art which consists in creating objects and decorations by rolling thin strips of paper. The course lasts 1 hour, you will learn the technique and the basic forms.

Kyōgen THEATER WORKSHOP. Comic Theater of the Samurai in Italian. Sunday 17 at 3.00pm. Held by Luca Moretti. Cost of the course: 10 €. For reservations: italokyogen@gmail.com. Luca Moretti is the first European and only Italian to receive a traditional kyōgen apprenticeship in Japan directly from the masters of the Ōkura school, with whom he has performed in the most prestigious Japanese theaters, from the National Theater of Nō in Tōkyō to the Kongo Theater in Kyōto. Creator of the “Italo Kyogen Project” for the popularization of Japanese comic theater in Italian. Author of “Ecco ‘l Ver Amor” and “Di Code e Canini”, and of the theatrical adaptation of “The Fox and the Alien” by Komatsu Sakyō and “Lo Fanciulletto del Tofu” by Kyōgoku Natsuhiko.
