Walk with Hadik Café!

Hadik Café organizes a literary history tour on both Saturday and Sunday! During the walk, we can discover the memory of the greats of 20th century Hungarian literature, and the voices of the constituents that once lived here will also be heard. We recommend this event to everyone who’d like a truly experiential relaxation, accompanied by musical backgrounds and hot drinks.

“Warmth, safety, light”
We’re stepping out of the cafe’s walls! Take a walk with us and get to know the “Secrets of Budapest” on the Hadik literary history walk, where we will walk around Béla Bartók, discovering the memory of the greats of twentieth-century Hungarian literature. We follow in the footsteps of Karinthy, Aranka Bőhm, Géza Ottostány, Géza Ottlik and Gábor Devecseri, who all lived here or at least in the vicinity. But there are also interesting faces that once lived here, who did not add to the flourishing of literary life with their writings, but created something lasting as a publisher, patron, or just an actress. We will talk about the home of a world traveler-explorer, a singer, painters who cared about this landscape. We pass on the literary heritage not through a traditional walk, but through the means of literature and theater, with musical background. If you want real experience-based relaxation, stay with us.
The walk is led by Kata Szeder.
The participants can get acquainted with the anecdotes, diary notes, fragments of letters, related poetic memoirs and songs belonging to each station in the performance of Eszter Csépai.
The ticket price is HUF 3,690, which includes a walk, a hot drink at the start and at each station, and at the last stop of the walk, which is the Hadik Café, we offer our iconic dessert, the Karinthy cake, in the company of a delicious coffee.
A headset is provided during the walk.
Departure and meeting at the Hadik Café (1111, Budapest, Bartók Béla út 36.)
The walk is mostly on light terrain, with some stairs to go downhill. The journey time is approx. 2 hours, both the meeting and the end of the walk will be the Hadik Café.
