Korean Movie Festival

Between 23-29 September 2021, the Korean Cultural Centre (주헝가리 한국문화원) will screen 18 films in 4 sections at Corvin Cinema, Budapest.

?️The FRESH section will feature the latest Korean films from costume drama to thrillers and romantic fantasy dramas. In addition to the new, it focuses on the evolving trends in Korean cinema.
?️The ARCOK section will showcase some of Korea’s most influential filmmakers to give the audience a comprehensive view of each filmmaker. The first Academy Award-winning Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung made history in April when she received the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in Lee Isaac Chung Minari – My Family’s Story.
?️In the FOCUS section, we will focus on the distinctive and highly successful Korean film genre, gangster noir. Action-packed and rich in dramatic twists and turns, these mafia stories present Asian underworld life with chilling realism.
Our ?️EXTRA section will showcase extraordinary women’s fates through three documentaries, but also a range of other genres, dramas and comedies.

?On 27 September 2021, they will discuss the fate of cinemas in the world of streaming services with local experts.
? The films will be screened in their original language with Hungarian and English subtitles.
