Roma culture in Hungary

The three-day festival aims to focus on Roma culture in Hungary. We will do this by using the tools offered by a broader spectrum of artistic disciplines, involving artists, creators and professionals from different fields. On the opening day, “Porajmos in the visual arts”, the three-day festival will be launched with a selection of paintings and prints on the theme of the Roma Holocaust, in collaboration with the KuglerArt Gallery. The paintings will be on display for two weeks after the opening. In addition to the artistic performances, the second day will feature a round table discussion focusing on the discrimination faced by Roma jazz artists and Roma musicians in recent decades, its changes, the perception of Roma musicians in wider society and its evolution.
2021.08.04., 20:30 – Balázs József Quintet
On the third day the great Balázs József and his quintet will give a concert. Balázs József is known for his achievements in the jazz world, he is recognized as a player and as a composer too.
