Jewish Cultural Festival

04.09.2022 - 12.09.2022

The 24th Jewish Cultural Festival will be held in the old, traditional venues, the Dohány Street and Hegedűs Gyula Street synagogues, and the JCC Budapest, and now in new locations as well. One of the new venues is the garden of the Miksa Róth Memorial House and Art Museum, where the atmosphere of the old garden cinemas will be evoked, and the other is the beautiful building of the restored Rumbach Sebestyén Street Synagogue, where you cannot enter without being fascinated.

There will again be plenty of klezmer music and Yiddish tunes in keeping with their tradition, but there will also be a light music program. International stars such as Boban Marković or the unique Odessa “gangsta folk” band Kommuna Lux will be back, but also the most prominent artists of the Hungarian music scene, such as the Budapest Klezmer Band, Andi Malek, Péter Müller Sziámi or Palya Bea, and we will also be performing the music of such legendary dead artists as Pál Szécsi or Leonard Cohen.

More than twenty programs await you in five venues, in the hope that together we can experience once again that not only do audiences need artists, but artists need the applause that makes them come alive. We cannot live without each other!
