“Colors of the Romans. Mosaics from the Capitoline Collections, ” a new exhibition presenting a wide selection of mosaics, masterpieces from the Capitoline collections that are little known to the general public. Next to the mosaics are also exhibited frescoes and statues, which together with them formed the furnishings of the original buildings; this overall presentation allows us to interpret the iconographic possibilities, decorative motifs and formal side of the works as an expression of the tastes and needs of clients. All this provides an important view of Roman society during the period between the first and fourth centuries BC. We are waiting for you in the Montemartini Museum.
